The role of the maths subject leader means having responsibility for: developing the quality of teaching and learning; ensuring pupils’ progress and attainment is monitored; managing resources; and having direct leadership responsibility for a number of staff to ensure that together they are able to secure the best outcomes for children in mathematics. Each of the four afternoon sessions is designed to stimulate leadership thinking and develop leadership capacity to support and challenge, in order to secure school improvement in mathematics and develop personal career potential. Teachers work with a learning partner and engage in three in-school activities between sessions in their own and their partner’s schools; two of these may need to take place during school time.
This programme is open to all schools but if you are a Devon maintained school selecting Mathematics Subject Leadership Programme as your subsidised support choice from Maths Professional Development Focussed on Teaching and Learning: Content and Pedagogical Subject Knowledge and Subject Leadership, please use voucher code: MATH1023 when booking your place(s) to receive this at the subsidised rate of £30 per person (up to 2 subsidised places per Devon maintained school).
