Offered as both an online PD programme (across five half day sessions) and a blended PD programme (online and face to face which runs across three full days face to face and one half day online) with an optional online follow up session. This is aimed at teaching assistants and teachers who will use the materials either to support learners flexibly or to run an intervention programme.
‘Fair and Equal’ explores in depth how to support understanding of and address misconceptions and difficult areas within multiplicative reasoning. It includes a set of flexible intervention materials, containing detailed activities, which can be used as part of immediate intervention sessions during teaching sequences in Y2 to Y6 or as an intervention programme for children who are working significantly below age-related expectations in KS2, KS3 and beyond. The materials have been written to support children with developing conceptual understanding and cover key ideas in multiplication, division and fractions in the National Curriculum from Y2 to Y6.
This programme includes an optional online follow-up session on the 14th July 2022 (13:30 - 15:00pm).
