Multi Session Event

The good autism practice training has been designed to support all practitioners working directly with children and young people on the autism spectrum to develop their practice.

This session is suitable for practitioners working with children and young people on the autism spectrum across multi-agency and public service agencies and organisations.

Training Objectives

The training will support participants in:

  • understanding the key areas of developmental difference experienced by autistic young people
  • understanding the individual and how to profile their strengths and developmental needs
  • understanding the importance of building positive relationships with and around the young person
  • understanding how to adapt learning and development activities to meet the needs of the individual
  • understanding how to make the environment more accessible to autistic young people
  • developing practical strategies and techniques in promoting effective learning and development
  • provide guidelines and activities to support practitioners to reflect on and improve their own practice
