AET Leading Good Autism Practice (Schools) 4 module course  (virtual event)

The Communication and Interaction Team (C&I) in partnership with the Autism Education Trust (AET) are delivering a training package designed for school staff that have a strategic leadership role that includes responsibility for developing provision for pupils on the autism spectrum and C&I needs within a school setting.

Essential for those in roles of leadership (SENCO/INCO), who support and train others and who are able to influence whole school development in responding effectively to the needs of autistic pupils.

Framed in the AET school autism standards, the training provides practical support and resources in support of whole school improvement.

Training Objectives

  • develop a full understanding of good autism practice
  • evaluate and develop autism practice within their setting
  • audit staff knowledge and skills and identify professional development needs
  • understand how the pursuit of good autism practice can support wider regulatory and good practice compliance
