Cyberbullying is a crime that is unfortunately only on the rise in today’s society. This course explores why cyberbullying awareness education is so important, and looks at the emotions not only of the victim but also the perspective of the bully: alongside the impact on the wider community. It will focus on strategies to support empathy and resilience and provide appropriate signposting to enable young people to make positive life choices regarding their online safety.
Students can expect to gain an understanding of why people may become cyberbullies, and understand that it isn’t the fault of the victim. They will gain a deeper understanding of how to identify if cyberbullying is happening to them, and will learn how to take action against this as well as suggesting ways of preventing it. This will be done through a series of guest speakers and interactive activities.
