Education Welfare

Our Education Welfare Service (EWS) supports schools in achieving higher levels of attendance
for the whole school as well as for individual pupils by:

• Providing strategic advice supporting policy and operational practice within schools
• Offering advice and training on the evaluation and effective use of attendance data
• Progressing a clear escalation process to encourage improvement
• Instigating an effective legal process to address parental responsibility
